CMMA starts with creating awareness on Human Trafficking in the medical sector.

This month CMMA started with creating awareness on Human Trafficking in the medical sector. Participants in the first session were employees of the Emergency Department (SEH) of the Horacio Oduber Hospital (HOH). They were trained in recognizing possible indicators of exploitation in people that come to the SEH for medical assistance. CMMA thanks the HOH and the SEH for their interest and support.

Amnesty International Netherlands meets CMMA

Recently CMMA received a visit from Amnesty International Netherlands, represented by the Director, Ms. Dagmar Oudshoorn, and the Project Coordinator Refugees and Asylum seekers in Aruba and Curacao, Ms. Tamara de Paula. Information was shared on the activities of the CMMA in the areas of Information, Education and Assistance. Skills training to detect, investigate, and prosecute trafficking in persons following a victim-centered approach in Aruba by UNODC

UNODC Practical Workshop to identify and investigate Trafficking in Persons in Aruba. Participants are from the Aruba Police Force, Royal Dutch Military Police, Customs Department, Immigration Department and Migrant Control Department. Presentations were made by Mr. Romulus Ungureanu, International law enforcement advisor for UNODC, and Ms. Lisette Reyes, UNODC Trafficking in Persons Project Officer for the Caribbean.
